Human Interaction with Environment

Human Environmental Interactions are interactions between the human social system and the ecosystem.

Pollution:

Pollution is the most important Human Interaction with Environment, because pollution causes harm to the nature and pollution is happening everyday everywhere.

Nitrogen Pollution:

Nitrogen pollution is mostly produced by the cars and other types of fuel combustion. Nitrogen Pollution is a major threat to Euope's forest. The nitrogen emitted from cars, farming, fossil fuel burning or other sources cause acidification when soils become saturated. And also in Sweden, nitrogen pollution has caused acid rain to fall. Sweden has to add lime to about 8000 lakes to prevent the acidification of the water.

Ozone Layer Pollution:

Ground level ozone is one of the most prominent air pollution problems in Europe, it causes risks to human health. Ground level ozone damages the lungs and respiratory system. About 30% of Europe's urband population is and has been exposed to the ozone concentrations, which is above the threshold levels. Ozone pollution causes about 20,000 deaths in Europe every year. Toxic smog can be created by the high levels of ozone and other pollutants, like nitrogen oxides, combined.

Water Pollution:

European Union contribute quite a lot to water pollution. Either by man or by natural causes. Some man-made causes can be waste treatment plants, traffic pollutants, oil tank crashes, and more. And some of the natural causes are acid rain, eutrophication of lakes, and more. One of the worst cause of water pollution is eutrophication of lakes. Eutrophication of lakes happen when lakes receives too much nutrients that causes excessive plant growth. That causes for less oxygen in the water and causes organisms in the lake to die. These nustrients could be found in fertilizers, soil erosion, that contains nutrients and seweage treatment plant toxic, or the settling of nitrogen from the atmostphere. Europeans consume oils, but since Europe doesn't produce any, they have to import it from another country. Sometimes, while transportation, their might be a accident spills of oil. Mercury, as long as other heavy metals, can pollute water and is very toxic. Once it is released, it can damage fishes and affect the people who consume them.

Noise Pollution:

Noise pollution is a type of energy pollution, that is irritating, distractiong, and damaging sounds are freely audible. Europe under goes noise pollution from air traffic, impair learning and the trigger of hypertension, road, rail, and more and all of those causes are averaging to be about 55 decibels or maybe higher. Based on EU agency, other than not getting a good night sleep from the noise of the traffic, evidences are increasing and showing that noise can effect the cardiovascular system, school performace, and mental health.
